Digital Campus has developed an elearning training program for teachers in higher education in emerging countries, the Certificate in Online Education. Using Moodle as the course management system, teachers undertake a part-time 4 month training course in how to put their course online and integrate blended learning into their course. A follow up advanced course is also available to those who want to extend their elearning skills and knowledge.
Our courses are rooted firmly in the practical skills needed and are optimised for use in emerging countries, where bandwidth may be at a premium and network intrastructure may not be ideal. The courses may be taken either as blended learning courses (with face to face workshops at the start and end of the course) or completely online. In the course, the participants will have the opportunity to create course content, explore online and blended applications for elearning using Moodle and practice with web tools such as blogs, wikis and podcasts as well as search tools, surveys, quizzes, and discussion systems.
