The Digital Campus project team are pleased to announce the launch of the digital-campus.org website. Here you will be able to track our progress, get news and find out further information and you an get involved.

The University of Alcalá (http://www.uah.es) and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (http://www.aecid.es) are supporting an innovative e-learning and digital campus pilot project at Mekelle University, Ethiopia (http//www.mu.edu.et). The purpose of this pilot is to build an operational e-learning environment and thus create a hyper-scalable model which can be used in other Ethiopian and emerging countries universities in the near future.

At Mekelle University (http://www.mu.edu.et) the project is now well underway, the new computer labs are being prepared, installing the networking infrastructure, designing the layout of the furniture and ordering and delivery of the computer equipment (thin client terminals, monitors etc).

The elearning training course and schedule for tutors is currently being prepared, ready for the start of the new semester at the end of September. Orientation workshops for the Engineering and Health Sciences tutors are planned for the beginning of September.
